Always Gamble on a Full Stomach
When it comes to gambling, in any form, you’re always pitting your knowledge, foresight, intuition and reasoning against the guy on the other side of the table.
If you’re playing poker you’re betting you know more about the hand than he does, if you’re playing blackjack you’re betting that your ability to make the best choices at the best times is better than the guy who made the rules for the casino.
No matter what you’re betting on, you’re betting that your end will come out on top. When playing a game which requires multiple decisions in a row, such as poker, each choice you make becomes more significant than the last. To come out on top you’re going to need play the game making fewer mistakes than your opponents.
9 Best Conspiracy Theories Explained (Infographic)
The truth is out there, unfortunately the majority of the general public is unwilling to look for it, or even consider the possibility that the people in charge of our countries would make a mistake or lie to us.
No matter how reliable the sources, facts or statistics, any opinion or explanation which differs from the “official” story from the government is immediately viewed as a conspiracy theory. Once something is dubbed as a conspiracy the majority of the population writes it off without even taking at a look at the evidence.
Unfortunately, many of the people who are willing to stand up and ask questions take it too far. It’s one thing to say “these facts in your report don’t make sense, this is why”, it’s another to say “these facts don’t make sense, so you must be a shape shifting lizard-alien”. As soon as someone makes one claim which is clearly far-fetched, everything else they said gets written off with it, no matter how valid.
25 Movies all Dudes Must See
Looking for a list of must-see movies for guys which goes beyond explosions, tits and fast cars? If you occasionally want more than a brainless shoot-em up, this list is for you.
This article is my attempt to compile a list of the most important 25 movies for dudes. I’m not talking about the manliest movies, explosions and tits aren’t required to make this list… but they do help. I.E you won’t find a single Michael Bay movie on this page.
Here’s the main rule for this list: If you can’t really call yourself a dude without having seen it, but a girl can call herself a chick without ever having heard of it, then it’s good to go. This doesn’t mean girls don’t love it, just that it’s not required for them.
Amy Winehouse: Should Have Gone back to Rehab
With the announcement of her death, Amy Winehouse becomes the latest in a long list of musicians to die before 30.
Not only did Winehouse die before 30, she died at the age of 27; an age which seems ripe for a musician’s untimely death. Other musicians to have died at the age of 27 include: Robert “lightning Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain (Nirvana), Brian Jones (Rolling Stones), D. Boon (Minutemen), Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison (The Doors), Pete Ham (Badfinger) and Alan Wilson (Canned Heat).
12 Songs that Changed the World
Lots of lists have been compiled on this very topic, but I take exception to most of them. The problem is the distinction between changing the world and simply changing the world of music.
The best way I can describe the difference is by giving an example. Michael Jackson’s Thriller forever changed music, music production, music videos… all of it. It’s one of the most loved, most sold and most well-known songs/albums of all time, but I’m not sure it really changed the world.
The main argument against my point is that anything which becomes common knowledge has to have an effect on the world, but I’m drawing the line at songs which were more than just a song. In my opinion, a song that changes the world becomes a beacon for change or even just hope.
In that frame of mind, here’s a list of a dozen songs which changed the world.
The Wonderful World of Boobs!
Here at Manolution we’re big fans of a good infographic, and even bigger fans of boobs. Combine these two items of amazing and we have something worth blogging about.
Our brother site Real Men Drink Whiskey just posted their first infographic, figuring the only thing which could top the largest infographic ever created would be the world’s universal trump card: breasts.

Childhood Celebrity Crushes: Christina Applegate
Long before she thanked us for stopping by as Veronica Corningstone, Christina Applegate became many an 80’s baby celebrity crush as Kelly Bundy.
In fact Applegate was such a popular sex symbol; they had to stop rolling tape whenever she walked into the scene during a taping of Married with Children due to the incessant hooting from the men in the crowd. This literally happened during the taping of every single episode.
Thanks to her role as Kelly Bundy, Applegate started getting leading roles on the big screen, starting with Streets; a movie no one would have ever heard of if it wasn’t for Applegate’s pseudo topless scene. I’m pretty sure that scene alone accounts for their entire $86k opening weekend.
Microsoft vs. Apple: The History of Computing (Infographic)
As Richard Nixon destroyed happiness with his war on drugs, the 1970’s saw the world’s first personal computers, inspiring five geeks to start a pair of companies which would go on to shape the future of computing as we know it.
In January of 1975 Bill Gates and Paul Allen called up Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems claiming to have a working BASIC interpreter for the MITS Altair 8800 microcomputer. While that claim was entirely fictitious, it took Gates and Allen just two months to create the product they claimed to already have.
With the interpreter working flawlessly, MITS agreed to distribute the software under the name Altair BASIC. Microsoft was officially established just one month later, on April 4th, 1975. After launching their first Disk Operating System (DOS) in 1980 Microsoft quickly began to grow into one of the biggest names in personal computing.
Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne founded their company, Apple, on April 1st 1976, just short of one year after the inception of Microsoft. Unlike Microsoft, who chose to focus on operating systems for other people’s hardware, Apple began their business by selling bare-bones hand-built computer kits, named the Apple I.
The Complete Guide to Playing Video on your PS3
Over the last while I’ve come across multiple situations when trying to watch a movie on my PS3, whether it was incompatible file types, Cinavia protection or lack of subtitles, I had to find answers.
While all of the answers are out there, I’ve never come across a simple complete guide giving me all the information I need in one place. So that’s exactly what I’ve decided to create. This guide uses just two programs, both free, for everything you need to do. I’ve made it as simple and quick as possible.
I should mention I didn’t create or come up with many of the tips below; they’re stolen from forums, blogs and sites around the web. I would give credit, but I’ve pieced this all together over the last few years. I really have no idea where most of this advice came from. Sorry if I’m ripping you off.
Get Stokke’d: The Legend of Allison Stokke
Since having one of her pictures on Myspace go viral, Allison Stokke has been named by many as one of the sexiest female athletes of all time.
The then high-school pole vault star started breaking records from day one, getting her a fair amount of notoriety in the track and field world. But it wasn’t until someone picked up on a picture of her at a track-meet did Stokke start to become a well-known name online.
In a time where the internet is choked with pictures of girls trying to be sexy, it was a simple picture of a truly gorgeous girl not trying to be anything but an athlete.
